We are beginning a fund to help our clients with pet care during times of financial need.  This is how we will design the fund.  Clients will donate or in remembrance of a beloved friend "pet" donate money to an income bearing account.  The interest generated will assist clients in financial need for pet care.  A committee will decide how the money will be distributed.

Clients find it difficult to qualify for low-cost animal care thus forcing them to discontinue treatment or even eliminate preventative care to their pets.  It's important that our pets at Clark-N-Oak be cared for and work together to ensure this happens.  We are still in the formative stages of the program and would welcome any suggestions.  The idea is based on the "It Takes a Village" concept, working together during difficult times.

Some considerations will be:

A client of Clark-N-Oak who has brought their pet in for care in the last 2 years.  This includes routine procedures but preference would be given to those with serious medical needs.

Pet has an immediate need such as:  Preventative Care, Emergency Medical Condition, or Chronic Illness that needs continuous treatment ie. kidney disease, diabetes, etc.

A review board that would decide on money allocation.  There are many advantages to this and provides assurance to our clients and the clinic that we will take care of "our own".

Funding by direct financial donations from clients, donations of pet supplies to be sold to generate income, manufacturers of some of our products make funds available for this purpose.  Annual events to generate funds.

The funds would aid our current clients have more ready access to offset these costs during job or financial instability.  The clinic would benefit because clients will have a fund available to continue treatments and medications.
